From there, everything goes to our San Jose warehouse, where our crew unloads it directly into an enclosed Storage Vault assigned only to you, sealed, labeled, and monitored 24/7. Our standard residential Storage Vault is 8 ft × 10 ft and climate-controlled, billed per vault per month with no minimum commitment. What you pay depends on how many vaults your household fills and how long you keep them, so we quote against your actual inventory rather than a flat rate. Storage-in-transit (SIT) is temporary storage that stays part of an interstate (state-to-state) move, under 49 CFR 375.609. Customers use it when a closing date slips or the new house isn't ready. While your shipment is in SIT the carrier stays liable for it, and before SIT converts to permanent storage the carrier has to tell you in writing that its liability is ending. On interstate estimates the first 30 days are often included. Inside California, SIT is capped at 90 days.

As long as you need. Some of our customers store one or two pieces for a few days during a renovation. Others store entire households for years during sabbaticals, overseas placements, or multi-year corporate assignments. There is no minimum and no maximum.

Anywhere in the country. Locally, our own crews and trucks deliver across the Bay Area and California. For out-of-state delivery we operate as a Bekins Van Lines interstate agent, coordinating the long-haul transport and partnering with a Bekins agent on the destination end. Interstate moves run under USDOT 70719.

Yes. We can retrieve specific items from your storage on request. There's typically a small handling fee for partial retrieval, and we recommend giving us a few days' notice so we can pull the right vault. Full delivery happens on your schedule.

Yes. Our facility holds a stable, moderate climate year-round, suitable for furniture, electronics, books, photos, leather, art, and other temperature- and humidity-sensitive items. We clean and upkeep the space daily. The building is fire-sprinklered, alarmed, and camera-monitored with controlled access, built and inspected to fire and military code standards.

Coverage during storage depends on whether your items are stored as part of an active interstate move (under Bekins valuation), as part of a local move (under SVM's standard valuation), or as a separate storage contract (warehouse storage liability).
