Common questions

What does moving and storage under one roof mean?

Moving and storage under one roof means one company packs your home, stores your belongings in its own climate-controlled warehouse, and handles delivery when you're ready, with no transfer to a third-party storage facility in between.

Why does it matter that storage is in your own warehouse?

Your shipment doesn't pass to a third-party warehouse operator between the move and the delivery, so nobody new handles it in the middle. The company that stored your things is the one that delivers them, which gives you one number to call. And our San Jose warehouse is climate-controlled, while a standard drive-up self-storage unit is not. That matters for wood furniture, leather, art, electronics, and instruments through a Bay Area summer.

Do you do this for both residential and commercial moves?

Yes. Residential households use this for closing-date gaps, lease bridges, renovations, sabbaticals, overseas placements, and downsizing. Businesses use it for office overflow, FF&E receiving for hospitality and healthcare openings, swing-space during build-outs, and project staging. The chain of custody works the same way regardless: our crews, our warehouse, our trucks (and the Bekins network for out-of-state).

What if the destination is in another state?

Interstate moves run under USDOT 70719 as a Bekins Van Lines agent. For out-of-state delivery, the long haul runs through the Bekins network and a Bekins agent handles the destination end. While the shipment sits in storage-in-transit it stays under the carrier's liability, and before it converts to permanent storage the carrier must tell you in writing that its liability is ending (49 CFR 375.609).

How is this priced?

Residential storage is billed per 8 ft × 10 ft climate-controlled vault per month, month to month, with no minimum or maximum commitment. What you pay depends on how many vaults your household fills and how long you keep them. Move-in and move-out labor is quoted separately against the size of the move. Business and FF&E storage is project-quoted on volume, duration, and services required (receiving, inventory, in-out handling). Contact us for a written estimate.
