Local moves within the Bay Area are billed by the hour, so you pay for the crew and truck for the time the move takes. Long-distance and interstate moves are priced by shipment weight and mileage, handled through our Bekins Van Lines agency. If you are crossing California or leaving the state and your move-in date does not line up with your move-out date, ask us about Storage-in-Transit.

Either works. Many customers pack their own boxes and have us handle the furniture, disassembly, and transport, while others book full packing so the entire home is boxed, padded, and labeled by our crew. Fragile and high-value items like art, glass, and electronics are where professional packing and custom crating pay off most. We walk your home and recommend the right level during your free estimate.

Every interstate move includes Released Value Protection at no charge, which covers 60 cents per pound per article (the federal default). For fuller protection you can upgrade to Full Value Protection, under which we repair, replace, or reimburse damaged items at their actual value. We explain both options in writing before your move so there are no surprises.

For a local move, two to four weeks of lead time is usually enough. For long-distance and interstate moves, and for any move during the busy May through September season or at month-end, book four to eight weeks out so you get your preferred date. We always try to accommodate short-notice moves when our schedule allows.
